So, school started last week and I’m contemplating on how much time do I actually have for my studies.  Is it my procrastinating nature that causes me to wait until the last moment possible before I get anything done or am I really spread thin.  There so many things that I’m involved in this year and so much more that I want to be involved in.  On top of that, I have my responsibilities of being a wife and a daughter.  Life is tough…but God is good!

Right now, I’m juggling between two online classes.  Economics and a Nutrition class.  I just added the nutrition class today and I feel a little guilt of adding this class when I’m not sure how much time I can actually invest in it.  I also have BSF on monday nights which I truly enjoy.  I may not get all of my homework done each week but I enjoy the fellowship and my strife to cultivate a deeper relationship with God.  I also have small group with my church on wednesday nights and Christine and I are starting a GPS group in March.  We’re praying to start a grief counseling group so that we can cultivate friendships within the church and our community.  Plus, I love fellowshipping with friends and family.  So, where do I have time for my lovely hubby or to study?  I feel like I wanna scream but at the same time I want to finish school so that I can apply for a better job than what I have now.

Aside from my venting, this past weekend was a great weekend.  On saturday, I had an opportunity to hang out with a dear friend, Dorc!  It was such a great time just sitting, chatting, and scrapbooking.  It’s been quite some time since I last scrapbooked.  I think the last time I did that was with her two years ago.  I used to scrapbook and stamp all the time.  It was one of my past times with my pal, Ivy but since her passing, I hadn’t been quite motivated to do so.  So, I was really thankful for the encouragement from Dorc by just hanging out with me and scrapbook.  We also reminise on some old pictures of our old high school days with our other friends.  So, it was a fun time.   Later that evening, Sichan and I went to a charity poker game with a bunch of people.  I was happy to see some of my cousins that I hadn’t seen in a while and also to hang out w/ my brothers.  The charity game was for one of our friend’s students who was in a tragic fire incident in her home.  She’s of elementary school age and she lost two of her cousins around her age and her grandma was in critical condition.  So, please keep Natalie Saephan in your prayers.  As of last saturday, she still hadn’t known that she lost some of her family members.  For more info: http://www.asianunderground.org/FireVictimFundraiser.html

On Sunday, after service, we met up with a few friends for dim sum.  It was good since I hadn’t had dim sum in a while.  Not as good as if we were in SF or Hong Kong but I can’t complain cuz’ it was a good time hanging out.  After lunch is always nap time for us on sundays.  It’s always good to take a nap after a long week so that we can replenish ourselves for the upcoming week.  For dinner, we were invited to our pals, Steven and Lisa’s home.  I can’t believe how much their cute doggies have grown up.  The last time we saw them, they were like puppies and now they’re full grown (even thought they’re still considered puppies).  It was great food and aweome time of fellowship.  We all watch the audition for “grease”.  Pretty interesting!

So, that sums up our weekend.  I didn’t get all the things on my list for the week done but I got maybe one or two of them done.   I’ll strive to finish it this week. :)

Stupid Prices January 8, 2007

After a few suggestions from a few friends regarding the mentioned above store, we decided to check it out ourselves.  So, on friday night after work, we headed over to the Elk Grove store.  We were quite disappointed when we arrived.  When I first walked in, I thought we were in a run down garage sale store.  That seemed to be the ambiance there.  The selves weren’t completely organized and it was mostly junk.  You would only be able to find one item of each in the clothing section.  Some clothing items were in a cardboard box even though they were brand new items.  The prices on their canned food items were more expensive than Dollar Tree.  Did I just have too much of an expectation?  Was I fooled by their limited pictures on their website?  Could it just be that it’s after the holidays so everything is just messy?  I’m not quite ready to put this store in my “never shall I come back again” pile, since I would still like to visit their Arden location and/or their Roseville location before I determine my final judgement.  Maybe it’s just this one particular store…I wonder how it’s like in the Seattle store?

I also finally finished posting my pictures on http://picasaweb.google.com/suzanneck96.  I enjoy using this website.  It’s simple and easy…only thing is that I’ve used up my free memory and had to upgrade..$25/yr.  Not too bad but I had hoped it would be cheaper.

Happy New Year!!! January 3, 2007

Hi everyone!  Happy New Year!  Hope everyone had a blast during the holiday season.

So, the last 24 hrs, I’ve been debating on whether or not, Sichan and I should start writing an annual newsletter to our family and friends; just to keep everyone updated on what’s been going on in our lives.  I would love to but would it still be late?  Sichan says that if we do one this year to recap last year, I would have to have it done by this weekend or else it would be considered late.  I feel like I should write one since I didn’t get a chance to get Christmas cards out this year.  My goal was to make personalized Christmas cards but of course, I got too wrapped up into different things and didn’t work on them.  I should of started during my week off and made them for 2007.  Oh well, I have 11 more months to make it..hehehe..

I enjoyed receiving Christmas cards and Christmas picture cards.  It seems like the trend lately is to make the picture cards.  They’re personalized and doesn’t require too much work.  You don’t even need to sign them.  Just stick them into an envelope and mail them out…how smart of my family and friends who did that this year.  We might just do that next year too…I’m always looking forward to saving time….

As for our holiday celebrations, we had a blast as usual.  It started off to a trip down to Northridge with great food and great family time.  Then, we came back to Sac on Christmas day to have another great family dinner with great family time.  After that, we lounge around a couple of days filled with tv shows like Grey’s Anatomy and went out to celebrate our anniversary.  Finally, we topped it off with friends during New Years eve and New Years day.  We both love opening our home and hosting parties.  I can’t wait until we get a house and will be able to invite more people over…maybe that’s one of our new year’s goals….

It’s always nice to have good fellowship with family and friends…
