So, we had an opportunity to rent the movie “Stranger than Fiction” recently and finally got a chance to watch it last night. Overall, I think the movie is good. I wouldn’t purchase it though. It just one of those movies that you’ve seen once and that’s good enough. It’s not a “jump out of your seat” movie.
The plot is about a average guy living his mundane life and then one day he starts hearing a narrator’s voice dictating his life. First, he just gets a little annoyed with it but he goes on until one day, he hears the narrator stated about his death. Which brings up a question, If God told you the exact date and time of your death, would you want to know or would you live in oblivion? Bibically, I don’t think it’s possible for us to know about when we are going to die but what if we had an opportunity to find out: would we want to?
It’s kind of a morbid thought for me. I feel very indifferent about it. On one hand, it would be good to know so that I can spend my time and energy on more important loves, like my family and friends but at the same time, I wouldn’t want to know cuz’ then I would lose the enthausiam of life. We are taught, as Christians, that our home isn’t here on earth but in Heaven and although that is true, isn’t there a part of us that likes the world that God has created here on earth. We are grateful for the people God has placed in our lives, so we won’t necessarily want to leave them, but yet, we are going back home to be with Him which no words can describe how that feels.
