Thanks for everyone’s prayers for me!  Over the past week, I’ve been feeling a lot better.  I went to the doctor’s when I had the panic attacks again and the doctor ordered an ekg test, blood test, and other tests just to check things out.  Praise God that I’m physically okay.  My heart is going strong!  They did diagnoise me with hyperthyroidism which I am thankful for because it explains so many of my symptoms.  I do, and the doctors agree also, that I am under a lot of stress and therefore the panic and anxiety occurred but to be able to find out that there’s also a another reason is a blessing!  I know that I’m not going crazy!!!!

In addition, we also had Sichan’s older sister and her family come up for a visit recently.  It was nice to spend some quality time even though it was in our tiny apartment. :)   We love our neices so they, of course, took advantage of that.  they know that Uncle Chipmunk and Auntie Princess won’t disclipine them like their parents would for misbehavior.  They got a chance to watch movies, hang out with Isaac and Jassy, stay up late for slumberparties, etc.  One thing I notice through this trip is that the girls love to read.  We went to the library and they could finish 3 books in 1 1/2 days.  They read everywhere-in the car, at the store, in their bed.  I’m so thankful to have neices that love to read. :)   It was also cute to see them interact with my other favorite nephew and neice: Isaac and Jassy.  They were inseparable – the four of them!  I wish I had taken pics of them during the trip.  I don’t know why the camera didn’t come up this trip.  I’m always shooting pics of them :)

If you guys could pray for me..I’ve started having my panic/anxiety attacks again.  this time, they’re a little worse since my heart/chest area ache’s at least once a day.  I also have a shortness of breath.  I make sure that I breathe in deeply.   In the past, going to the gym, and kicking up my endrenaline stops the pain, but it hadn’t worked for at least the last two week.  It really hits me at night and when I’m tossing and turning in bed.  I made an appointment to see my doc on thursday just to reassure myself that I’m physically okay.  I recently had my heart and veins checked out and they’re healthy (I was nervous about making sure that they aren’t clogged.)  It’s really a bothersome to know that I’m okay physically but mentally and emotionally I’m a mess.  I’m still going through the grieving process for all those that I grieve for.

Pray that I will fully allow God to take control of my life -my pains, worries, stress, etc.

Lost September 7, 2007

So, for the past few months, I started watching season 1 of a tv show named: Lost.  Before I watched the show, I was skeptical of the ratings since it seemed like a Gilligan’s Island type of show.  I was really hesistant about it until my friends Mel and Jackie told me how good the show is.  Jackie even lend me the whole season 1.  Sichan got hooked on it right away and within weeks, he got caught up with seasons 1-3.  I didn’t really wanted to add another show onto my plate of show because my tv time is already been narrowed down due to my school commitments.  So, the dvds sat on my bookshelf for months.  Well, finally (recently) I sat down and made myself watch it.  Within the first disc, I was hooked!  I didn’t understand the first few eposides but now, I’m so intriged by it that I’m constantly bugging my friend Jackie to lend me season 2 when she’s done.  She’s been quite busy since school has started for the both of us so I just put season 2 onto my blockbuster list.  Crazy eh?  I need to know what’s in that hatch!!!  I made Sichan promise me not to tell me since I don’t want to be spoiled by it! :)

So for my Lost friends out there, what do u think of the show?  Are you all caught up yet?  Thanks for introducing me to such a great show! :)

3. I can bend both of my pinkies really far back.

4.  I have a very selective memory.  Some would say that I’m very forgetful. :)

5. I go on gchat during my working hours. :) hehehe..don’t tell my boss! :)

6. I love rubber stamping.  I just wish I had more time to work on it.

7. I don’t like to take out the trash.  If possible, I ask Sichan to take care of it for me.

8. I love spending time with people.

A few months ago, our church council decided not to hold VBS (Vacation Bible School) this year due to the small attendance last year and also we felt that we didn’t want to compete with our neighborhood churches.  Our thought is that we are all here doing God’s work so why not have a different activity to get older kids involved.  Plus, VBS is generally for grades 1-6th, and so we wanted to outreach to the older kids; the pre-teenagers!!!  God had worked on my hubby’s heart and the rest of our council to do some hands on discipleship and to continue on building relationships with our neighbors.  So, we came up with a basketball camp and Sichan volunteered to organize it.  God has certainly been moving into our heart about this since last year.  It’s funny because after last year’s VBS, the coordinator came up to Sichan and I and stated that she felt that God was calling us to do VBS or an alternative next year.  We had been praying about it for over 6 months, even started on planning for one but we never got together with our pastor and children’s ministry leader to discuss it due to the different busy schedules we all have.  Sichan and I knew that God wanted us to change our VBS format but 6 months ago, we didn’t know how.  Then, one discussion from finding locations for Share the Rock ministry to play basketball during this upcoming school term in our council meeting, God opened the doors and gave us the idea to host a basketball camp.

I’m so proud of my hubby because he allowed God to work in him and by being obedient to His calling and leading this camp, God is continuely amazing us with all the preparations for this camp.  For instance, through 1 banner that we put up, we almost have 30 registrations not including our own kids from church who have yet to register.  Every time, I get a call regarding registration, I want to cry cuz’ to see our neighborhood so receptive to a basketball camp, it’s truly amazing!!!  Also, God has been working into various people’s hearts to work on the parking lot to see them work numerous hours to get it done just wows me, especially with our pastor since he’s been sick with a bad cold and every day he’s out there working on parking lot.  Steven worked our flyers and they turned out great!!!  God also gave us windy weather the day we canvassed the neighborhood and we praise Him for that since it would be unpleasant for us if it was in our regular 110 degrees.  While others, volunteer their ideas and time with coaching, teaching, praying, donating items for prizes, and even taking charge of all the food for the camp, I’m in awe and yet at the same time so thankful to putting so much time and effort to making this a success!!!!

So, here are some items that you can pray for us:

1. team unity with all the workers (coaches, teachers, helpers in the kitchen, etc).

2. Pray for Sichan, Daniel, and others as they are healing from their colds/flu’s.  Pray also for our general health for the kids and the workers that we will all be healthy.

3. Pray for opportunities to build a relationship with the kids and be able to share the Gospel with them.

4.  Pray also for our witness to the kids and their parents/guardians.

5. Pray that God would continue to move into our hearts to help out with the camp in various ways.  We are still in need of workers, teachers, donations for prizes.

6.  Pray for Sichan as he’s leading the banquet night on the 24th.

I’m sure that there’s a lot more that we can pray about for this camp but I can’t think of them right now.  Thanks for all your prayers!

Are you more boyish or girlish? August 6, 2007

So, I took this quiz off a my friend Dorc’s blog and here are my results: ***You Are 20% Boyish and 80% Girlish***
Even if you’re not a girl, you’re very feminine.
You’re in touch with your feelings, and your heart rules you.
A bit of a emotional roller coaster, one moment you’re up and the next you’re down.
But no matter what, you try to be as cute and perky as possible.

The last few weeks had been quite hectic for me!  Numerous things going around in work and home life..here are a few recaps and updates…

I finished my summer school class..yay!  Those 6 weeks, 3 nights a week was very draining!  I, however, did indeed enjoy the class.  The instructor knew his information, which is always a plus, and eventhough he was tough with a essay exam of 8+ pages every monday and a quiz every wednesday; I praise God for getting me through it!

Work has been quite stressful the last few weeks!  I transfered from an assistant job to be the payroll and personnel coordinator for my dept.  The new position has been quite challenging, especially cleaning up the mess that the previous person intentally left for me but God has been good giving me a great and patient supervisor.  I’m doing two jobs right now, juggling in between the assistant job and the payroll job since we’re in the process of finding/hiring my own position.    It’s going to be exciting cuz’ I’ll be on the other side of the panel – the interviewer instead of the interviewee.  As far as the other position that I had applied for, after the interview I wasn’t too excited to work with the manager there and since I hadn’t heard anything, I think the feeling was mutual.  Oh well, it’s all good cuz’ God has a plan for me…

NHCC..we had the last of our first concert series.  Thanks for everyone who had prayed for us and thanks for all those who attended.  God did some mighty work during the concerts.  We seemed to have just enough help and always an abundance of food.  It reminds me of when Jesus fed the 5000 people with just 5 loaves of bread and two fishes, and on top of that, they had plenty of leftovers after everyone was filled.  Praise God for the awesome turnout and pray for the continual ministry events for our neighbors.  One that comes to mind is our basketball camp in a few weeks for 4 to 6 graders.  Sichan’s leading that so pray that God will give him the discipline to manage his time wisely so that he can plan for this event.   Also, pray that God will give us support by bringing not only kids to this event but also helpers.  We decided not to do VBS this year and decided to push for a basketball camp since the kids in our neighborhood seem to love sports more.

Praise God that I read through an entire book last saturday.  It’s been so long since I’ve read an entire book in one day. I read Tammy Trent’s book, Learning to breathe again.  It’s a amazing book of how God can still use Tammy even though a horrible lost; she had lost her husband through a diving accident.  I cried throughout most of the book.  I’ve been so encouraged by her testimony!

Also, I’ve slowly started stamping again.  It’s been quite a challenge since everytime I try to, I think of my late friend, Ivy and then I get sad but I recently stopped by our favorite store, Stampers’ Corner in Elk Grove and it brings me fond memories of the times when Ivy and I used to shop there.  They’ve actually moved and expanded their store.  It would have been nice for Ivy to be there with me since we could probably spend the whole day just browsing around but I’m learning how to heal through grieving.  It’s been better day by day but I still miss my friend.

Well, I better go and start my day now..hope to talk to everyone soon!

For those of you to happen to read my blog today, please pray for me today, Thursday July 5th for I have a job interview at 1pm.  It’s for a fellowship coordinator position.  Pray that God would calm my nerves since I hadn’t had an interview in over 2 years and may He lead me to which position to take.  May He also give me the right words to say so that I would do well in my interview.  May He also protect me from the heat since I’m walking over to my interview in this 105 heat.

I also have a payroll position that’s been offered to me within my own department.

thanks!
